Musing on two portraits of cows that Gene painted, thinking how they would look great in a French country decorating scheme, and envisioning a story set in the French countryside, it all came together in Jane's head! “I will create a French fairytale," she thought, “sophisticated enough to appeal to adults and captivating enough to enchant children, all built around breathtaking reproductions of Gene Franks' exquisitely detailed watercolors of farm animals, country people, and landscapes!
