Gene and Jane Franks found each other in California in 1980. Gene, an artist, and Jane, a writer, create together. For many years they lived in a cottage of stone and log. It seemed idyllic, but Gene yearned to return to the land of his youth to capture his roots with pencils and paint.
So off they went to Arkansas where rural farms and rolling hills fed Gene's artistic soul. He painted the people; their cows and chickens; their barns and fields; and the quiet streams that flowed through the woods.
After a few years, Jane thought the paintings should find their way into more people's lives. So she made reproductions of Gene's best paintings. Then, an idea burst upon her. “I shall use these exquisite Giclee art prints as characters in a story, and create a magical world for the characters to inhabit.” And soon the french fable was born.
As tales began to unfold and sketches flew from Jane's pencils, Gene said to Jane, “You have created a charming story. “Let us share it with children of all ages who love art that is timeless.”
And that is what happened. This is a true story!
As we busy ourselves with our painting and writing, we are as surprised as anyone about our new mission: creating enchanting stories and art for children's walls. Now we are eager to share the french fable with you!

OUR MISSION |
Since our marriage in 1980, when we knelt in a wedding chapel in an orange grove, and dedicated our lives and talents to God, we have had as our mission together, to show His truth and beauty; and to bring creativity and peacefulness to our world through art and literature. We have sought to use the best materials available, to offer the best value, and to operate with the highest integrity towards our clients and suppliers alike. Our new focus: art for children's walls inspires us to provide the most beautiful yet charming products imaginable – ones that will appeal to the child in all of us. Above all, we hope that everyone who explores the french fable will see it as a vehicle reflecting the truth and beauty we have come to love; and that in some way it may help our readers and viewers to explore the depths of their own imaginations to consider how their creativity and beliefs may be informed by this same truth and beauty. |
